World Affairs Council of
Dallas/Fort Worth
International Education Program

The World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, established in 1951, offers more than 100 programs annually to connect North Texas with the world.  Les Femmes was formed in 1961 to benefit the Council, which was originally named the Dallas Council on World Affairs. Founded in 2004, the Council’s International Education Program (IEP) educates students and teachers about how international events affect their lives, their communities and their country.  The Council's mission is to empower students to become effective, active citizens who are informed, independent thinkers about world affairs. Funding by Les Femmes du Monde supports a variety of workshops, projects and forums.  Due to school districts' increasing budget cuts, current textbooks are generally 10-15 years out of date; therefore, these programs are offered at no cost to students, teachers and schools.  The IEP provides essential classroom resources and programming for more than 300 schools in 92 independent school districts throughout North Texas, ultimately impacting 100,000+ students each year.
